Nashville, TN, Spring Break 2012 Newsletter

Greetings!

I have just returned from a mission trip to Nashville, TN, and I would like to share with you just a few of the highlights and amazing moments from the trip!

First of all, this was my first mission trip where I had the privilege to be a co-leader of the trip along with my wife Micaela Lattimer and my friend Billy Edgell. It was amazing to see God truly show up both during the planning process and the actually execution of the trip. Our team consisted of 7 Ashland University students from my campus small group. I had the amazing opportunity to teach our team about street evangelism and minister to the city of Nashville, TN, during our university’s spring break.

On this trip, we were able to conduct 10 outreaches! These are the outreaches that we did in Nashville: Chalk Intercession, Church on the Streets, Free Prayer, Worship Outreach, Centennial Park Outreach, Sack Lunch Giveaway Homeless Outreach, Vanderbilt University Intercession and Outreach, $5 Forward, Second Harvest Food Pantry, and Downtown 2x2s. This trip was an amazing chance to share Christ’s love in a tangible way with numerous people on the streets of Nashville, TN.

During one of the outreaches, my wife needed to use the restroom, so Micaela and I walked around the downtown area to find a restroom. On our way back to rejoin our group, I noticed a woman by herself outside of a bar. I said hello to her, and she asked my wife and I if we were looking for a place to get some drinks. I replied that, no, we were actually on a mission trip, and I proceeded to ask her if she needed prayer for anything. Then, she responded that her father was not doing very well. So, my wife and I were able to pray with this woman on the spot about her father’s situation. During the prayer, I noticed that the woman started crying. She seemed so touched during this moment, and I could really she that the LORD was speaking to her through this encounter.

Furthermore, this is just one of many fruitful interactions that God was able to use me in during this mission trip. I thank you so much for all of your prayers and financial support that made this trip possible. None of this could have happened without your help.

I am excited to see where God leads me next; you are such a blessing to me! :)

THANKS AGAIN,

Paul Lattimer

Hong Kong Christmas Outreach 2010 Newsletter

Greetings,

I have just returned from Hong Kong for the two and a half week “Christmas Outreach” with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Hong Kong. It was an awesome experience, and our team saw 85 salvations through the work God was able to do through us! On this trip, we used dances and dramas to communicate the gospel message to unreached people groups in various sectors of Hong Kong such as schools, parks, piers, street markets, and more. Pictured above, I was in a drama called “The Tree” that shows a girl making bad choices in life, but then she is redeemed by Jesus. Not everyone in Hong Kong could speak fluent English, so it was amazing to see God cross language barriers via non-spoken dramas and dances to reach his lost children. The majority of people in Asia have never heard of God’s love before, so I am eternally grateful for this opportunity to share the message of true love with the 3600 hundred people who stopped by our performances.

After each set of performances, our team had 30-60 minutes to converse with the onlookers and help lead them closer to Christ. During one of these times, I found myself in a situation where I was alone with 8 students at Eduyoung College in Yuen Long, Hong Kong. I quickly learned that these kids did not speak much more English than “Hello,” so I asked God to redeem the situation and give these kids a good experience with Christianity. Not even a second later, Hannah, one of our team’s translators approached me and offered to translate English to Cantonese and vice versa. Through God’s provision, I was able to share multiple testimonies with these students and convey the true love and care that God has for their lives. This is just one instance of the thousands of great encounters that our team had. All in all, 3600 heard the gospel via the performances or one on one conversation, 85 were saved, 20 recommitted, and 4 were miraculously healed; God is so good!

Thank you all so much for all of your prayer and support; this amazing trip would not have been possible without your help.

Thanks again,

Paul Lattimer
